Bergamot Essential Oil


Ah Bergamot! The star of the show within earl grey tea is also available as an essential oil. Extracted from the fruit of the cirtus aurantium subsp bergamia tree, it has been used since around the 16th century at which time its popularity began to spread like wildfire. Used initially as an antiseptic and reducing fevers - it later became popular as a fragrance around the time of Napoleon.

Commonly used as a top note within aromatherapy circles and blended with other citrus oils along with basil, clary sage, cypress, geranium, jasmine, lavender, neroli, rose, or sandalwood.

Topical Use - 1 drop can be used on insect bites and cold sores due to great healing and antiseptic properties.

Stress - Adding a couple of drops to a bathtub or diffuser can induce a nice state of relaxation at the end of a long day!

Infection - Sometimes used within baths to treat UTI, eczema or psoriasis.

We're located in Sydney, so please allow some time for delivery based on your location. $8.95 shipping is via Australia post if you use PO BOX on checkout, or Sendle Courier for most orders - and takes on average 3 days to Melbourne, QLD.

  • NSW can be next day delivery or the day after on average.
  • To NT, WA and rural areas, please allow a week for delivery!
  • Refunds can't be provided based on shipping times as our dispatch time is very fast, with transit times being out of our control. If you have a function or event and your order is urgent, please let us know!

Frequenty asked questions

Can I use Essential Oils during pregnancy?
Even if there is no mention of this oil not being safe to be used during pregnancy, it is always a good idea to check with your doctor first. In general we would recommend against the use of oils during the first trimster.

Is this suitable for children?
Essential oils are not recommended for children under 3 months. Even after three months only a small amount is advisable.

Is this suitable to use around pets?
It's best to use essential oil around pets with caution. If in doubt, please contact your local vet.
